Hand Pulled Serigraphs
What is a serigraph? Unlike a giclee or other digital printing process, a serigraphy is a hand pulled art process where paint is 'pushed' through a silkscreen onto a support. In printmaking, each serigraph print in an edition is considered an original work of art, not a copy.
Our serigraphs take on quite a journey from start to finish. As Michelle takes her ink drawings and prepares them for the screens, Tim prepares the supports and the screens. Tim then pulls each image by hand, layer by layer (color by color). Once they've dried, Tim finishes each serigraph with a rustic wood frame.
